June 6, 2000, Tokalas @ Red Cloud Building, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation #344: W/ in Tetuwan Oyate Territory.

ANPETU WASTE TO EVERYONE!

We, the Lakota Tokala INSIDE the Red Cloud Building, each send you a heartfelt handshake and a warm greeting to all of the supporters of the CAUSE of the Grass Roots Oyate / Tetuwan Oglala Lakota Oyate. Those of you who have so generously assisted the Oyate - whether it was food, clothing, monetary donation and/or prayer - we thank you … Wopila Tanka Heca! This release is in reference to these donations.

One of the primary reasons we've supported the occupation and have remained in here is because of the financial corruption within Tribal Government, Belief in the Sacred Pipe and Can Nupa. Presently, there are allegations that monetary donations have been sent to different individuals on behalf and in the name of the Grass Roots Oyate, Oglala Sioux Tribe, Oglala Lakota Oyate, and Grass Roots Lakota Oyate. However, we (Within the Building) had been uncertain if this is true, as we are unaware of the majority of the donations ... in particular, the monetary donations. Sadly and regretfully, thieving and corruption within can be detrimental to our CAUSE if it is true that people are benefiting in the name of the Grass Roots Oyate. Therefore, It is necessary that Documentation and notation are required for us to address this issue.

Since DAY ONE of the occupation on January 16, 2000, We, Tokala have endured many hardships. The stresses of ensuring that the building is secure and the occupants safe, of having to be constantly on alert to Bomb Treats, Treats upon ourselves and treats to remove the occupants, of going through times when we do not know. Where? How? We'll provide the next meal **, other such stressful situations at home away from home, sometimes one hour too two hour drives to our districts. Those that only come to support or visit are not aware of these things and can-not, should-not take it upon themselves to speak on our behalf when it comes to actually living here. At the beginning, there were some disagreements amongst ourselves, a fact we will not deny. These conflicts have since been experienced, expressed and ironed out by the Tokala society. We must endure these pressures so that Freedom can prevail for the Oyate.

**[One nourishing noon or evening meal to serve occupants, supporters and visitors costs approximately fifty to seventy-five dollars ($50.00 - $75.00).]

We, Tokala Society INSIDE the Red Cloud Building, have recently been blamed for personal use of a monetary endowment. We express our truth daily in front of the Can Nupa. However, because this generous gift was sent directly to a local grocery store as a credit, we do have receipts justifying expenditures. Receipt's that are on file also justify other smaller amounts that we have received here thus far.

Because the Tokala support any and all efforts to the end, Genocide, Misappropriation of tribal funds, Theft, Embezzlement, Lawlessness and Abuse, we encourage everyone who has donated and contributed clothing, food and monetary support of any amounts to PLEASE send this information. Send us your name and address, email, phones numbers along with amounts and items donated and contributed toward the CAUSE for which it is intended. This information can be mailed to Tokala @ Red Cloud Building - c/o Wallace G. Little, Jr., P.O. Box 365, Oglala, South Dakota 57764.
