Subject: Statement from Clyde Bellecourt National AIM, regarding Occupation

This is a statement directly from the National Office of the American   Indian Movement from Clyde H. Bellecourt.

The situation  regarding  the young Takota that was shot has been investigated and what has been learned is that he  had left his post and gotten drunk. He was involved with a gang and there was some sort of altercation between this young man and a gang. He was shot in the knee. This had nothing to do with the occupation All the elders and people in the occupation are safe at this time.  Any and all information coming from this man calling himself Wildhorse should be disregarded.

The Grass Roots Oglala Lakota Oyate met at 2:00 a.m. after a Tokala was shot. The Tokala had left the perimeter without permission after receiving orders not to leave his post. The Tokala will be dealt with by leaders of the Tokala Society upon his return.   Therefore we respect our fellow brothers and to call a standby alert due to the fact that we have elders, children and handicapped persons in the tribal building.   Presently the situation is under control and we'll update all out information as we continue to monitor the building.

Chief Oliver Red Cloud, Lyman & Vanassa Red Cloud, Grass Roots Oglala state that in addition to a young Takola being shot, that shots were being fired at the Red Cloud Building by whom they believe is Tribal Council and their families.  They said the medial office across the street will not let the Grass Roots in, so they are in need of medial supplies, can't even get aspirins.  It is snowing now and very cold, in need of blankets, coats, boots.  A Call for Action to all Warriors
Societies has been issued by the Grass Roots.  Tribal President Salway is hiding and refuses to protect the people from the Corrupt Council.  Chief of Police has stated to the Grass Roots that he will intensify security and has been helping.

My words:  Please listen to Wild Horse and his posts, don't question this warrior on the front lines.  If you don't know by now that he can be trusted, then get to the back of the line!  THIS IS A TRUE CALL TO ACTION!  Sandra Matchen

P.S.  Tom Poor Bear is on the front lines as well, and would appreciate all Camp Justice Supporters to do anything they can to help

the Grass Roots!
